Faces of Knotted Pine Stables

Welcome to our place!!

Now that you are visiting with us in BLOG WORLD...let's put some faces and names together. Enjoy meeting the folks and horses that make-up the Knotted Pine experience. Stop by our blog anytime...or join us in person at the stables!

They say the family that plays together, stays together...well, here is a tight knit group! The Edward Lawson Family are pictured left. Clint, Edward, Cris, and Will live on the premises of KPS, and they are the muscle, brains, and beauty behind the scenes ( beauty is referring to Clint & Will..we'll let you decide who gets the other two attributes!) Ed's love of horses led to the development of KPS, and the sons started riding at very young ages. All the men ride as trail bosses with the boarders. Cris joins in the riding, but also loves to play hostess at the many social events planned throughout the year.

This is the stable/home of the Lawson family...and their extended family, the boarders of KPS. An air conditioned tack room with a fridge, 4 block stalls, ample breezeway, a large porch for relaxing, restroom, lighted riding arena, tie-up areas for 12 horses...and warm hospitality make it a welcoming spot for both horses and their two legged counterparts. There is even an old dog who just loves to lie at your feet. A small pond is open to all the boarders for some relaxing fishing, too.

Next, let's meet the boarders and horses of KPS...Pictured above is Schonda Sailer and her BFF Beemer. I love this picture of her next to a field of sunflowers. Beemer is a Tennessee Walker gelding. Gotta think sweet and spicy when you talk about this pair...and yes, Schonda is the sweet half! Schonda has always dreamed of owning horses, and she and her daughter, Lakyn have discovered the perfect mother/daughter activity. Many hours on the trail have made many precious memories for these two...as well as those who have been lucky enough to be along for the ride.

Here, Lakyn Sailer is on her mount, Mingo ( an indian name for "trusted trail friend") This Tnn Walker LOVES Lakyn...she's the only one who can just walk right up to him and catch him with no drama!

Carla Hall and her mare Wildfire's Morning Doe are a lovely pair. Doe is such an elegant Tennessee Walker. Carla began riding when her daughter, Casey showed an interest. Casey is now busy being a swimming champ...but Carla continues to enjoy "ME TIME" with Doe.

Tracy Banks & Dolly, a gorgeous gray Tnn Walker Mare.

..and David Banks and Bodacious Cash "Bo", a Tnn Walker Gelding.

Tracy & David joined KPS December of 2009. The purchase of their new horses was a family event...involving both parents and 4 children. Courtney, Zach, Matt & Kate are all earning their cowboy-girl badges. We have learned that the Banks do things one way...ALL THE WAY...and we can't wait for their initiation while camping at Hard Labor Creek in July with the KPS crew.

Here's Anna Greer and her Tnn Walker mare, Brie. These two girls ROCK...and are a definate pair! There is an enormous amount of trust between these two. I never know who is more excited about being together, Anna or Brie! Anna's mom, Caren, and brother, Tate jointly own this lovely horse and actually get to ride her when Anna lets them!

One of my favorite mother daughter pics is of the Dorminy girls, Margie and Lexie and their two mares, Velvet and Lacey. These are our long distance boarders who now live in Savannah. Original boarders with the KPS, it was with heavy hearts that we watched the girls (all 4 of them) trailer away from us...but HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN! Impromptu rides and planned events are going to allow us much more quality time with this group. Margie can once again enjoy therapy sessions with her buddy, Ed...and Lexie can have loads of fun with all of her south GA horse buddies! The two horses will board at KPS, while the rest of the Dorminy family reside in beautiful Savannah GA.

The rest of the horse/rider pairs are the Lawsons themselves....

Edward Lawson and Tnn Walker Gelding, The Judge

Clint Lawson and his red roan Tnn Walker, Rusty

Will Lawson and his spotted saddle horse, Cloud

Cris Lawson and her Paso gelding, Pedro

And then there are SPECIAL FOLKS and their horses who are always part of the crew...and we love them like family, too!

Kristi Welke and her blonde boy, Buddy, a quarter horse gelding.

Kelly Tucker aka "That Crazy Tucker Lady" and her gorgeous Missouri Fox Trotter, Jack.

Greg Tucker aka "That Crazy Tucker Man" and his Tnn Walker Mare, Jill

We've been truly blessed at Knotted Pine Stables with beautiful horses, wonderful friends, and precious family.

We will NEVER take any of them for granted!
